WHEN GIRLS AND WOMEN SUCCEED, EVERYONE BENEFITS

Picture
For over three decades, Hands in Outreach has given thousands of marginalized girls access to education and pathways to more promising futures. We are a caring, effective, boots-on-the-ground organization. HIO gives our girls and their families the tools, and thereby the opportunity, to lift themselves from deep-rooted poverty. With the help of wonderfully generous donors and our staff’s dedication, we’re making great gains toward breaking an endless cycle of poverty. Creating gender equality is coming within reach.

HIO’s education programs promote financial stability, self-reliance, self-esteem, and self-determination. We actively partner with some of the best primary and secondary schools in Kathmandu Valley, encouraging poor girls to avoid early marriage or dropping out of school to take low wage, menial jobs leading nowhere.

Our approach to education is family-centric — we know that a girl's educational promise can best be fulfilled with the loving support of her family. Our commitment to societal change in Nepal is heartfelt, tangible, and unwavering. We proudly provide a hand up, not a hand out, helping to change the face of debilitating poverty for vulnerable people, one girl, one mother at a time.

Nothing uplifts a society more than educating its girls and women.
