Hari Maya Podel was an HIO sponsored UCEP student
for a 2-year machining course. The UCEP administration admired her skill level so much, they hired her as an instructor.

For 2014-2015, HIO will offer opportunities for training 10 young women at UCEP (Underprivileged Children's Education Program), located on the outskirts of Kathmandu.
Very poor young women, ranging in age from 17 to 22 come from all over Nepal for one year training courses, along with a chance to take academic courses to graduate from high school.
Courses are given in auto/motorcycle mechanics, architectural drafting, machining, plumbing, electrical wiring, tailoring and printing.

Upon completion of the course, the HIO young adults are offered 6-month on-the-job positions to gain working skills in their trade.
